Live 'Q&A' event
The event has concluded
You can read a summary of the event below.
Background
In these uncertain times and the recent restrictions to support social distancing, we have had great questions about how EngagementHQ's eight online tools can be used to replace or mimic face-to-face engagement events.
While many are familiar with how you can use EngagementHQ's online engagement tools, there are other ways they can be used to support and increase online engagement, or to host a 'online event'.
We hope to showcase how easy it is to host a real-time online event, and to give you the confidence to use this approach for an upcoming engagement that your organisation needs to run.
When?
On Wednesday 1st April at 11.30am (AEDT – that's Victoria time), we invited you to ask us any questions about online engagement.
This was a real-time live event where our team of experts will respond immediately.
What do I need to do?
1. Simply book out time in your diary for this event and/or set up a reminder.
2. Revisit this page at 11.30am (AEDT) on Wednesday. We will provide instructions of how to participate.
3. Ask the panel your question/s.
What's next?
The event has now concluded. Read our summary below.
Take a look at the questions that were asked and the responses our panel provided in real-time.
If you missed out, and/or you have a question for the panel, feel free to ask us here (we aim to get back to you within 2 days).
Join one of upcoming live events, where we will be showcasing some of our more sophisticated online engagement tools.

Can we host video conferencing meetings on Engagement HQ? Like Zoom? Or can we integrate Zoom into the project pages?
Nadine asked over 4 years agoYes, the Zoom embed code isn't as comprehensive as some other embeds and the challenge is that: 1) it is not responsive to device from a participant end.
To solve this issue you can live stream Zoom into a youtube channel and embed the youtube channel.More details here: https://helpdesk.bangthetable.com/en/articles/3813400-live-web-cam-streaming-on-ehq

Rosslyn asked over 4 years agoHi Rosslyn,
Thanks for joining the Q&A.
We certainly do. Here's a dedicated space that we have set up to showcase our clients around the world who are using EngagementHQ to connect with their communities in light of Covid-19: https://livedemo.engagementhq.com/covid-19
A personal favourite that we came across today is an example of a Council in the US who held their Council Meeting via live streaming on eHQ. They also used our stories tool to launch a 'Mayors Challenge' which is encouraging children and teens to create or learn something new during this time. Sharing this specific example here: https://kincardinetalks.ca/mayors-challenge
Many thanks,
Jodie

Scott Dutton asked over 4 years agoHi Scott, Zoom is a third party video conferencing tool. At Bang the Table we use Zoom for video conferencing calls, meetings and webinars with clients. You can also embed Zoom Live feeds to webinars and meetings into your EngagementHQ Project page. Here are the step by step instructions https://helpdesk.bangthetable.com/en/articles/3813400-live-web-cam-streaming-on-ehq.
We will send you a private message to book in some time to discuss further. :)
Kind regards

Ann asked over 4 years agoHi Ann,
Thanks for joining the discussion.
Sharing with you what an eHQ project page looks like with an integrated video for live streaming. Confirming that this works for Youtube Live, FB live, GTM and Zoom: https://livedemo.engagementhq.com/face-to-face-events
I am just waiting on confirmation from our technical team on whether Teams can also be integrated.
I will come back to you via email to confirm this as soon as possible

Dale Sutton asked over 4 years agoHi Dale, really glad to hear that you are using EHQ in new ways.
The Forum tool works really well to replicate a gathering of people, and then breaking up into smaller (more focused) discussion groups is like working in tables at a workshop event.
I think there is a lot of potential to use the 'Ideas' tool to brainstorm a heap of ideas/solutions, then get people to vote on them and identify the eg top 3. If you wanted to facilitate further regarding the top 3 ideas, you could then turn on the 'Forum' function of each idea and discuss in more detail.Dan Popping

Hi all What do you see is Engagement HQ’s role in connecting Council with our community both now and as we move into a time of social change?
BruceSmith asked over 4 years agoCouncils' connection with the community is quickly evolving in the current global situation and impacting on a range of channel and council activities.
Councils EngagementHQ platforms are being relied on as there have been a quick shift to involve communities from face to face activities that were scheduled.
The benefits are that councils will become more digitally confident and communities used to engage online. We need to ensure good practice is followed to maintain the connections with community.

can you do polling in breakout rooms?
Scott Dutton asked over 4 years agoHi Scott,
Zoom Polling means that the data is then stored within a third party platform and not able to be analysed across the other EngagementHQ Tools/reporting features. We would recommend using a live stream embed in your project page to a meeting such as Zoom and using Quick polls feature within EngagementHQ for polling which can also display results live. You can have multiple polls and you could also set up closed group project pages to conduct polls/forums to a targeted select audience. ie like group breakouts. Happy to explore your use case further with you.
Kind regards
Nicole

Rosslyn asked over 4 years agoThanks Rosslyn,
the SMS is a new integration that we have just started to use and experiment with. We used it today to remind people this event was about to start.
Essentially you capture mobile numbers and upload the list to send out messages. It also has the ability to then capture voting responses via a 'quickpoll' and will then bring this data into our EHQ Quickpoll tool for everyone to see.
We are currently testing to see how this will also work with our 'Guestbook' tool, so people can contribute comments via text messages and they are pulled though to our Guestbook board on EHQ.

Nadine asked over 4 years agoHi Nadine,
We are answering all questions publicly here today and will leave this page public so you can access and share with colleagues at a later date. Also to note this Q&A tool also has ability to answer privately and publicly so if you're conducting your own live Q&A event you can answer sensitive topics privately to the person too. If streaming live the panel answering questions you could embed the video post the live session
Cheers

asked over 4 years agoHi Tom,
Adelaide City Council have been leading the way with this and over a number of years. Check out the examples on the right.
They had a live session about solar panels on heritage houses where the Mayor was responding to questions as they were coming in similar to this event.Cheers Joe
